Applicants are eligible to to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or other closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = A) in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program, or applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = A) in an applicable master's degree program.

All applicants must submit:

graduate admission application and application fee
official transcripts
GRE scores
proof of English proficiency

An applicant whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency regardless of current residency.

Applicants must take the GRE and have their scores sent to Graduate Admission Services. Prospective students should note that the following two requirements need to be met for consideration for admission: minimum score in the quantitative section is 700 and a minimum combined quantitative and verbal score is 1100. A student whose undergraduate degree is not in civil or construction engineering is required to take appropriate undergraduate courses as deficiency courses to establish a base of knowledge in the discipline. Deficiencies for admission to the graduate degree programs are specified at the time of admission and details can be obtained on the graduate studies section of the program's website.

Applicants with an undergraduate GPA lower than 3.00 may be provisionally admitted at the discretion of the admission committee.
