Realize your potential with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UCF. Students will gain understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis and electricity. Graduates will pair these core principles with tools like computer-aided design software to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, cars, aircraft, robotics, medical devices and much more. Mechanical engineers design, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal devices, including tools, engines and machines. They design power-producing machines such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines as well as power-using machines, such as refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. UCF's program focuses on mechanical systems, materials, energy systems, and bio-medical applications. Students gain an in-depth understanding of engineering principles and knowledge of solid mechanics, thermodynamics, structures and properties of materials, fluid mechanics, vibrations, computer-aided design and manufacturing, and controls.
