Though you can major in general civil engineering, you may also specialize in the areas of environmental and water resources, structural engineering, construction management, transportation, and urban engineering - all fields projected to experience continued growth in the coming decade. As a civil engineering major, you'll get hands-on experience with the tools and materials of your craft in our seven labs: structures, environmental, asphalt, concrete, hydraulics, computer modeling and soil mechanics. With a specialization in structural engineering and course work in computerized structural analysis and design, you can find ways to solve the mysteries of structural failures and to construct buildings, bridges and dams that pass the test of time.
