Our entry requirements indicate the minimum qualifications with which we normally accept students. Competition for places varies from year to year and you aren't guaranteed a place if you meet the minimum qualifications. Please note there is no year 1, year 2 or year 3 entry to this course. Advanced entry: Advanced entry into Year 4 is possible for students with suitable qualifications. Minimum Year 4: Irish Ordinary Degree- Pass in a relevant subject with 50% overall, with a minimum of 50% at first sitting in all final year subjects. IELTS (Academic)-6.0 overall, with nocomponent below 5.5. TOEFL Internet Based Test-80 overall with aminimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 inspeaking and 17 in writing.

Mechatronics can be found everywhere, from everyday objects such as smart phones and digital cameras, to cutting edge robotic technology such as interplanetary explorers. With this programme of study you learn to design products and processes effectively with a focus on quality, function, speed and reliability. You'll gain a broad knowledge of engineering before learning how to apply theory to practical engineering situations in automation and product design using the most up-to-date industry standard equipment and software.
