The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is committed to providing high quality education in the chemical and biochemical sciences for undergraduate and graduate students, producing research contributions that are recognized nationally and internationally, and making service contributions at all levels. A doctoral degree program includes a minimum of 24 credit hours of graduate-level coursework, 36 credit hours of research (CHEM 7000), and 12 credit hours of dissertation (CHEM 8000). The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Texas Tech University is now offering 4 years of support for all PHD students who maintain good standing. With a competitive stipend and low cost of living, this gives our students peace of mind as they pursue their graduate degree.
