In essay form, please discuss your reasons for undertaking graduate study in education at this time. Explain one or two of your core reasons for going into teaching. State the subject area in which you wish to specialize and explain your reasons. Describe your relevant experience and other qualifications. Your statement should be three- to five-pages long and uploaded to your online application.
Transcripts/Academic Qualifications
Transcripts from all universities and colleges attended must be uploaded to your application, please do not mail official transcripts to our office
GRE- Exams are required for admissions into the MAT program. Graduates of Brandeis or CETE colleges and universities are not required to take GREs.
Curriculum Vitae/Resume
List all colleges and universities attended, experiences with children or youth, major extracurricular activities and employment, detailing particularly those relevant to your proposed field of study, any honors or prizes awarded, and community service, publications or research projects with which you have been associated.
Two Letters of Recommendation
The first letter should address your academic/intellectual qualifications.
The second letter should address your experience and/or potential for work with children or youth. Applicants with substantial work/professional experience should consider a letter from an employer. You may be asked for a third recommendation letter.

The Brandeis MAT will prepare you to make a difference in today's diverse classrooms. <br><br>Through our intensive, 1-year program, you will earn a master's degree, an elementary or secondary (subject specific) Massachusetts Initial License and the option to earn an additional certification in Moderate Disabilities or in English as a Second Language. And youll land a job. One hundred percent of of Brandeis MAT graduates gain employment in teaching positions upon graduation. Your coursework will be fully integrated with a year-long student-teaching internship in a public urban, suburban or Jewish day school classroom.<br><br>In the MAT program, you will join a deeply committed, intellectually engaged cohort of aspiring teachers. Together, you will learn to apply big ideas like equity, justice, cognition, and differentiation to the daily work of teaching. For your culminating project you will engage in Teacher Research, systematically studying the teaching and learning in your classroom.
