The Department requires the following items:
A current curriculum vitae
A statement of intent/letter of professional goals. This letter should clearly state which Anthropology Graduate Program (Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology or Evolutionary Anthropology) you are interested in and who you are interested in working with.
Official GRE scores taken within the last five years. Please take your exams in time for the Department of Anthropology to receive your official scores by the deadline, December 1st. (It usually takes at least 1 month for us to receive your scores)
Official transcripts of all post-secondary education must be sent directly from the institution(s) you attended to the Graduate School . (Do not send duplicate copies of transcripts.)
Three letters of recommendation. As part of the on-line CollegeNet application you will be asked to supply contact information of three references. CollegeNet will contact your references and electronically collect letters of recommendation.Tip -**After a week check with your references to make sure that they have been contacted**
For students with an M.A. or M.S., you must submit a copy of your thesis or master's research paper directly to the department..
For students with a B.A. or B.S., you may submit one or two undergraduate papers to document your research and writing abilities. Submit official TOEFL scores taken within the last two years. You must have a minimum score of 550 on paper-based or 213 on computer-based exams for consideration as a graduate student. toefl ibt 80 The minimum acceptable IELTS score is 7. Applicants for admission must have or anticipate receiving a bachelor's degree from an accredited school before the start of the semester for which they have applied to the Graduate School. Previous schools must be accredited by a recognized accreditation association. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point Avg of graded undergraduate coursework, or from graded graduate coursework where there are 12 or more graded semester hours of graduate coursework taken after the bachelor's degree.

The Evolutionary Anthropology program at the WSU Department of Anthropology offers comprehensive training in evolutionary approaches to human behavior and biology. Our faculty contribute important findings to all the major areas, including cultural evolution, human behavioral ecology, human biology, evolutionary psychology, evolutionary medicine, and medical anthropology. Our intellectual vision spans molecules to multi-level models, intimate ethnography to cross-cultural comparison, and we integrate this vision through a shared theoretical framework that incorporates perspectives from multiple disciplines and values applied research. Faculty-led research at field sites in Argentina, Bolivia, Central African Republic, Commonwealth of Dominica, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Honduras, Tanzania, and the United States provides important and unique fieldwork opportunities for students.
