Completion of high school/secondary level. A certified copy of graduation certificate or diploma will be required prior to enrollment at SDSU. A minimum U.S. equivalent GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 (B grade or 80 percent) or higher. TOEFL – Passing score is 80 iBT and 550 paper or higher. IELTS – Passing overall score is 6.5 or higher.

The mission of the SDSU CS undergraduate program is to provide students a broad background in computer science theory and state-of-the-practice experiences that will enable them to pursue high technology careers and higher-level education goals. Students are expected to gain analytical and problem-solving skills, software design and programming skills, as well as effective writing and presentation skills needed to work in a collaborative computer science environment.<br>Upon successful completion of the SDSU Computer Science Bachelor of Science Degree, students will be able to demonstrate the ability to:<br><br> Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions<br> Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program's discipline<br> Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts<br> Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles<br> Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program's discipline<br> Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions
