国际学生入学条件
The minimum requirements for admittance to the M.Sc. program are an undergraduate degree with a concentration in Computing Science, and a high upper-second class standing. We normally expect that students have taken courses covering the following topics:
calculus
linear algebra
statistics
logic and discrete mathematics
advanced data structures
computer systems
automata theory
algorithm design and analysis
programming languages
software engineering
Applicants should also have taken at least two advanced courses in applications areas such as artificial intelligence, database theory, or computer graphics.
Candidates with high academic standing in an undergraduate degree other than computing science, who have some computing science background, either academic or professional, may be admitted as graduate preparatory students. They are asked to complete up to one year of undergraduate courses to enhance their background and funding may not begin immediately.
You should have the following:
an undergraduate degree with a concentration in Computing Science and
a high upper-second class standing (i.e., an average of 75% in your courses).
Ideally, you should also have taken at least two advanced courses in applications areas such as artificial intelligence, database theory or computer graphics.
Our program is highly competitive with very limited space for international applicants.
Your best strategy after completing an application is to contact a small number of faculty in your area of research.
Please quote your application number in your email to them.
Students are admitted to a supervisor if deemed admissible by the admission committee.
Applications will not be considered complete without all:
university transcripts,
graduation certificates (if applicable),
two letters of academic reference, and
a statement of interest.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
M.Sc. requirements:
Honours Bachelor degree, and
second class standing or higher.
International students must have a minimum A standing (first class).
For international students, if required, TOEFL iBT minimum scores of: writing (24/30), speaking (22/30), reading (22/30), listening (20/30), for a total of 88/120. 课程简介
皇后大学计算机学院提供质量卓越的研究生课程
The Queen's School of Computing offers a graduate program that is unique in its quality, diversity, innovation and reach. Research projects span traditional and innovative computer science. For example, one team is designing wireless networks of tiny sensors located deep below the surface of the ocean to study that largely unknown world. Another group is developing techniques to increase the accuracy and reduce the discomfort of medical processes. Some students are discovering properties of certain computers that are radically different from the ones we have today. Others are building organic interfaces for humans to communicate with computers. We are finding methods to make databases more secure, software more reliable and computers more intelligent. Our students have the opportunity to be involved in cross collaborations with Johns Hopkins University. Our NSERC CREATE program in Ultra-Large Scale Software Systems has close ties with many industrial partners and provides students with practical professional and developmental skills, industrially-motivated research, and industry experience.
