Upload your official Secondary Transcripts in English to the Application. Students from African countries that use the WAEC exam need to submit their scratch card and exam information so we can verify scores online.

Minimum English Requirements (must meet one of the following)
A score of 500 or higher on the written TOEFL
A score of 173 or higher on the computerized TOEFL
A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL
A score of Band 5.5 (overall) on the IELTS
A score of 43 or higher on PTE (Pearson Test of English)
A score of 90 or higher on Duolingo
Completion of Level 109 at an ELS Language Center or its equivalent
Completion of EF Level 4
A score of 410 on the Old SAT Critical Reading section or 22 on the New SAT Reading section
A score of 19 on the ACT English

SAU Engineering is housed in a dedicated, state of the art facility near a newly renovated dormitory reserved in part for science majors. Courses emphasize solving engineering problems and obtaining practical experience through internships. The baccalaureate degree provides a broad background in mechanics of materials, structures and control systems. Our engineering program enjoys a unique partnership with local industries, real-world engineering problem‐solving is enhanced by practical experience our majors receive through industry internship opportunities. The students are also required to work on a senior capstone engineering design project overseen by a faculty member.<br><br>Program Educational Objectives<br>Within three to five years of graduation, after obtaining a four-year general engineering degree from Southern Arkansas University, graduates should:<br> <br>Apply the fundamental knowledge of engineering design skills and problem solving skills to advance professionally and intellectually in their careers beyond the entry level in the field of engineering,<br>Be effective citizens and contributors to free and democratic society through the use of technical, ethical, social, leadership, and communication skills, and<br>Be life-long learners by engaging themselves in professional activities in the field of engineering<br><br>Student Outcomes<br>An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics<br>An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors<br>An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences<br>An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts<br>An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives<br>An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions<br>An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies<br>An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
