The Department of Communication Studies at Ball State is committed to communication excellence in both social and professional arenas. This demanding and varied coursework will help you advance your professional career, move into a teaching role at a college or university, or prepare you for further studies in a doctoral program.You'll take 12 credit hours of general communications core courses, 12 credits specific to your master's in organizational and professional communication and development, nine hours of electives, and three hours of credits in a paid professional internship. As the culmination of your degree, you can either prepare and defend a thesis or complete a written and oral comprehensive examination.
