For students from overseas, Macquarie uses an international selection rank to determine the minimum eligibility requirement for each undergraduate course. This rank has been converted into equivalent scores for various recognised international high school qualifications and university entrance examinations, including global qualifications like the International Baccalaureate (IB) and GCE A-Levels.
All applicants for undergraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.
You may satisfy the English language requirements if you have completed:
senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC
one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification
Entry to Macquarie University, as a guide the minimum score should be IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (pbt) 570, TOEFL (ibt) 83.

课程简介

Spatial Information Science (SIS) explores the way spatial information is derived and used. Spatial information is information about locations on the Earth's surface. It is important in the management of the local environment and for supporting environmental decision making. Applications include protecting wetlands, mineral exploration, routing emergency vehicles, optimising locations for new infrastructure, modelling climate change and land degradation. The field covers a wide range of technologies including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, global positioning systems, and digital aerial photography. Graduates with expertise in spatial science contribute to workplaces and research fields such as natural resource management, local government, emergency management, land administration, forestry, agriculture, marine environments, health, defence, education, infrastructure management, transport and more. The major in Spatial Information Science is available by distance education (external study) mode, with some units requiring attendance on campus.
