Must hold a baccalaureate degree and a master's degree from an accredited college or university
Cumulative GPA for all undergraduate courses should be 2.8 or above on a four-point scale
Must have taken the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test
GRE: minimum scores of 146 verbal and 140 quantitative
Miller Analogies Test: minimum score of 402

Application Materials - When all of the Graduate School's application materials have been received, they are reviewed by the Social Studies Education program faculty. The faculty may request additional materials from applicants before making a recommendation on the application. The faculty make a recommendation to the Department of Educational Theory and Practice's graduate coordinator, who in turn makes a recommendation to the Graduate School. The final decision on admissions is made by the Graduate School. Applicants and the department will receive notification directly from the Graduate School concerning a decision on acceptance.

Letters of Recommendation
Letters will be solicited by the Graduate School and submitted on-line and include three letters of recommendation from individuals acquainted with the applicant's academic abilities or potential as a teacher. At least one reference must be a current or former professor. Names of referees must be included in the Graduate School application form, page 3.

Minimum TOEFL score requirement: overall score of 80 with at least 20 on speaking and writing
Minimum IELTS score requirement: overall band-width of 6.5, with no single band (score) below 6.0
