All application materials are submitted electronically through the UNC Charlotte Graduate School application system. Applications cannot be forwarded to the Ed.D. program until all supporting documentation has been received by the Graduate School. Contact gradcounselor@uncc.edu regarding application questions.
Graduate School requirements:
Bachelor's degree or its U.S. equivalent.
GPA 3.0 in the bachelor's degree program. 3.5 in the master's degree program. (Both on a 4.0 scale.)
A statement of purpose (essay).
At least three recommendations.
Unofficial transcripts of all academic work.
TOEFL or IELTS for non-native English language holders

The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership is designed to prepare educational administrators who can assume mid-level and senior-level leadership positions in public school and post-secondary settings. The program includes three concentrations: (1) Higher Education, (2) Learning, Design, and Technology, and (3) P-12 Superintendency.<br>Graduates of the program are prepared to:<br>Exhibit a broad understanding of their roles as educational leaders in the organizations they serve<br>Demonstrate leadership competencies and skills necessary to accomplish the goals of complex organizations<br>Interact successfully with the numerous institutions and interests that influence their organizations<br>Understand theoretical concepts that undergird organizational theory and behavior, leadership, social psychology, policy, educational administration, and research<br>Address issues that face educational leaders, including resource acquisition and management, policy development and analysis, program management, community relations, curriculum development, and personnel selection, development, and evaluation<br>Career Options<br>Many of our graduates have distinguished educational leadership careers in academics and administration. They have positions in P-12 public and private schools, college, and university settings such as professor, program director, executive director, associate provost, building level or district-level administrators, and college presidents.
