Master of Science in Educational Management from University of Houston-Clear Lake with both Principal as Instructional Leader and Special Education Certifications provides you the background needed to better serve all students from Pre-K to Grade 12. This 36-credit-hour degree will prepare you to understand key leadership issues and how they relate to effective special education, and you can also earn Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) and Texas Teachers Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certifications.The graduate plan in Educational Management leads to the Master of Science (M.S.) degree with Principal Certification and Special Education Certification, if certification requirements are met. The master's degree in Educational Management consists of 39 hours of graduate coursework. Candidates for this master's degree must complete the Professional Education Core (6 hours), the Administration Core (15 hours), the Special Education Core (15 hours), and the Capstone Experience/Graduate Practicum (3 hours). Students will be eligible to register for the graduate practicum after they have successfully completed at least 24 hours of the master's degree and passed the state certification exams TExES and PASL). Graduate Practicum is only offered in the fall and spring semesters. A practicum application form must be completed and submitted by June 8 for the fall semester and October 1 for the spring semester in order to enroll in ADSU 6739, Graduate Practicum.
