Upload one official copy of transcripts from every postsecondary school you have attended or are attending.We review all applications individually and holistically, but our expectation is that successful candidates for admission to any NYU Steinhardt MA program in teacher education will have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate grade point average. Special consideration may be granted to strong candidates with a GPA below 3.0.Test of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TOEFL). Scores are valid for two years from the date taken. Successful candidates score a 100 on the Internet based exam or 600 on the paper based exam. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Official scores are valid for two years from the date taken. Successful candidates achieve a band score of 7.

Develop your teaching practice and become a social advocate for educational equity at all ages. Through course work, student teaching, and field experiences, you will gain skills and strategies to support young children's learning in developmental stages and contexts, leading to eligibility for New York State initial teaching certification in both general and special education at the early childhood level (birthgrade 2).<br>Open to participants who have a bachelor's degree but who are not yet certified to teach, this program will help you study:<br> Core content and pedagogical skills essential to educating young children<br> Skills for providing children with rich, child-centered educational and community environments<br> Approaches to adapting curricula, assessments, and learning environments for students with diverse needs and abilities<br> Strategies for supporting learning at all stages of development, Techniques for collaborating with families and other professionals<br> Knowledge and skills to advocate for children with disabilities<br>Upon graduation, you will be eligible for New York State initial teaching certification in both general and special education at the early childhood level (birthgrade 2) and prepared for career opportunities such as:<br>Lead or team teacher in public or private childcare centers, preschools, early childhood centers, and elementary schools<br> Curriculum specialist, staff developer, or program director in early childhood education and special education programs
