When you choose Modern Languages as your major, you can choose our Teacher Education Concentration. Not only will language courses give you a unique skill set, it will set your resume apart in the job market by demonstrating great discipline, flexibility in learning and critical thinking, and the ability to interact with a variety of backgrounds. In our Teacher Education Concentration, you'll learn pedagogy and the foundations of education needed to teach foreign languages. Our graduates teach Spanish, German, and French at high schools across Missouri. You'll have the opportunity to experience another culture directly by going abroad. You will learn from faculty members who are dedicated to helping students develop real-world linguistic skills and broaden their horizons, becoming world citizens. You can also earn credit for graduation while traveling the world. The communication skills and cultural proficiency derived from languages complement any career path.
