Professional experience, a B.Ed. degree or its equivalent, and a minimum of a B- (70-72.9%) average in a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent, or
Two years professional or industrial experience, and a minimum of a B- average in a Bachelor's Honours degree or its equivalent, or
B.Ed. degree, and a minimum of a mid-B (73-76.9%) average in a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
Applicants who do not have professional teaching experience or a B.Ed. degree, but who have a record of high academic achievement (80% or higher) in an Honours Degree or its equivalent as well as demonstrated exceptional ability to undertake research, are also encouraged to apply. A maximum of five full-time students may qualify for special admissions annually.
Prior to admission, applicants in this category must present courses that constitute preparation for research in education and, in Pattern I (thesis route), they must develop a program of study with a member of Graduate Faculty.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based. Required test scores: 580 (paper-based) / 237 (computer-based) / 92 Internet-based). To be competitive applicants should also achieve a minimum of 4.5 on the Test of Written English (TWE).
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Required test scores: a minimum of Band 7.

Working with our outstanding researchers and experts in education, you will develop innovative research, writing, teaching and leadership skills. Our MEd program gives you the flexibility to choose your research focus. We offer a diverse range of courses and, as a researcher in our community, you will have opportunities to to engage in outreach initiatives in the community and in local, national, and international partnerships. <br><br>Our Master's and Ph.D. programs are designed for university graduates interested in conducting research and completing courses in education. They develop leadership abilities, including critical reflection, research and writing. As our scholarly community values growth and personal development, our students have many opportunities to research meaningful topics and present findings to an audience of peers. Our Master's program is full-time or part-time and 2 degree patterns are offered: thesis or project. By keeping our class sizes small, we guarantee you access to the kind of individual attention and one-on-one mentoring that will help you develop both personally and professionally. Our annual Graduate Student Symposium – organized by students for students – attracts student presenters from across Canada, with publication opportunities for all presenters. While our graduate programs attract many teachers and education administrators, they also draw professionals from other sectors. Professionals who have education and leadership responsibilities and wish to improve their research and leadership skills come to the program from sectors such as health sciences, engineering, business, social services and the military.
