Applicants must have a minimum 3.000 grade point average in their last two years (60 credit hours) of college coursework from accredited institutions. In addition, applicants must have validated strengths on the multiple indicators listed below.
Achieved a grade point average of at least 2.750 from a U.S. institution, or its equivalent from a foreign institution, and no background deficiencies in the desired field of graduate study. Students with background deficiencies may be admitted on a conditional basis. In certain instances, the GPA may be based on the last 60 credit hours of coursework (or nearest semester or term break to this). Many departments require a higher minimum grade point average
Official transcripts of all college-level work completed, and indication of a degree conferral
Three Reference Report Forms from supervisors and/or professional peers. At least one must be from a supervisor attesting to the applicant's potential as a building administrator,
Evidence of three years of experience in a state-accredited school while holding a professional level teaching, school specialist or clinical license, or a full vocational-technical certificate,
A resume or curriculum vita of educational and professional experience,
A brief statement of professional goals related to completion of the master's degree and/or certification as a school administrator, and
A letter signed by a building principal indicating he or she is willing to serve as the student's mentor and will allow the student to fulfill the practicum requirements of the program.
TOEFL 79 on the internet-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test.
IELTS minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required

Wichita State's Master of Education (MEd) in educational leadership combines cohort learning and real-world experience and mentorships in school settingshelping educators take the next step in their careers as licensed school administrators, as well as preparing them to pursue a Ed.D. or Ph.D. At Wichita State, applied learning is everything. In fact, every degree we offer has a guaranteed applied learning or research experience built right into it equipping you with the relevant skills and experience to make you workforce ready before graduation. The MEd in educational leadership is a two-year degree program consisting of 33 credit hoursincluding extensive practicum experience in area schools. Students who complete this program and pass the School Leaders Licensure Assessment are eligible for Building Leadership endorsement from the Kansas Department of Education.
