The Curriculum & Pedagogy Program (C&P) is a forum for systematic reflection on curriculum, viewed in the broadest sense as educational experiences that occur in both formal and informal settings. This includes a critical examination of the substance (subject matter, courses, programs of study), purposes, and practices used for bringing about learning in educational settings. Students enrolled in the Master of Arts in the Curriculum & Pedagogy program are required to complete eight half-courses and a thesis. Additional coursework may be required depending on previous experience and academic qualifications. All requirements for the degree must be completed within three years of enrolment for full-time students, and within six years for part-time students.<br>In this research-based program, you will investigate how curriculum can shape educational experiences in both informal and formal settings. If you wish to pursue doctoral studies, this program is for you. This program offers seven program emphases: Critical Studies in Curriculum and Pedagogy, Arts in Education, Digital Technologies in Education, Indigenous Education and Decolonization, Qualitative Methodologies, Science, Math and Technology, and Well-being.<br>The Digital Technologies in Education Emphasis (DTE) engages educators in an examination of technology and its effective use in educational contexts. Drawing on research from the fields of the learning sciences, psychology, diversity studies, and information and communication technology, learners deepen their understanding of such topics as knowledge-building, computational thinking, gamification of learning, online knowledge communities, social media, immersive technologies (VR, AR), technology and assessment, and mobile learning.
