国际学生入学条件
The Jackson Institute for Global Affairs is currently a department within the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale (GSAS). However, unlike most of the Ph.D. programs within GSAS, Jackson offers a professional degree for students who are pursuing careers in government, public affairs, and private organizations addressing global issues. As such, our master's degrees are not focused toward an academic career. Regardless of the GSAS application prompts, applicants should tailor their personal statement, and other application components, around their academic and professional background and showcase how these shape their intended focus area at Jackson as well as their future professional plans in the global arena.
Students whose native language is not English and who did not earn their undergraduate degree at a university where English is the language of instruction must also take the TOEFL or IELTS exam. The minimum score required for the TOEFL is 102 on the internet-based exam (iBT) or 610 on the paper-based exam (PBT). A score of 7.5 8 on the IELTS is roughly equivalent to the required minimum

The Jackson Institute's M.P.P. occupies a unique place among international affairs graduate programs. The four-course interdisciplinary core curriculum provides students with a shared intellectual foundation focused on acquisition of the ideas, ways of thinking, and skills needed for leadership in global affairs. The small core both prepares students to identify and investigate solutions to the global issues they are most passionate about, and gives students the unusual flexibility to design an individualized course of study around those issues by taking advantage of the extraordinary breadth of courses and resources at Jackson and across the University. The M.P.P. program is small by design, with about 35 students in each entering class. Coming with diverse backgrounds and career interests, Jackson's graduate students form an intimate and close-knit community. Our size and approach create a dynamic atmosphere as students become a resource to each other and a window to the diversity and complexity of the global affairs field. Our students leave the Jackson Institute with lifelong connections to colleagues working around the world in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors in diverse fields that include policy analysis, security analysis, trade and economic development, foreign affairs, human rights, international finance, and environmental policy.
