Prepare to enter the classroom as a transformational professional, ready to make a real difference to the lives of the children you teach. The current national teacher shortage, combined with a higher than average number of children expected to start school in 2018, means there are excellent job prospects for graduate teachers. BA(Hons) Primary Education covers all National Curriculum subjects and allows you to choose a specialism from Literacies and Language, Maths and Sciences, Arts, or Humanities. You'll develop your skills in teaching five to eleven year olds, across key stages 1 and 2, to professional standards. Deepen your knowledge and understanding through self-directed study, with an enquiry-based approach to your learning. Read, discuss and question current policy and practice and make links between educational theory and practice. In your final year, you'll research and write a dissertation on a topic of your choice. Graduate with Qualified Teacher Status, ready to start your career as a teacher.
