The M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies is offering a concentration in Energy as a means to prepare students for entry and/or advancement in energy-related careers. Programs are individually tailored to fit the students' goals through the selection of three areas of study as part of a 30 credit hour program. Students will complete a portfolio as their final comprehensive component of their program to illustrate their understanding of and ability to integrate the three areas of study. The Energy concentration of the Interdisciplinary Master of Science Degree is a unique graduate program that offers unmatched educational opportunities leveraging the university's unique blend of expertise covering business, law, renewable energy, and oil and gas. Students select three academic areas (three 3-credit hour courses in each area) from among four options that are best suited for their career goals and complete a 3-credit capstone experience. All courses are taught in the hybrid format in order to provide a learning experience that includes both online and face-to-face education taught by university professors-most with significant industry experience and all with distinguished academic careers. Courses will be taught in clusters by academic area so that each semester students will be immersed in a particular discipline. This format allows students to fully concentrate on one area of energy without distraction while providing a valuable sequencing of information in order to provide coherent and logical delivery.
