You must have satisfactorily completed high school (secondary school) with at least a B average or a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale
Copies of transcripts of all high school work, including college-level courses.
Mid-year and final grades will be required.
Proof of high school graduation.
Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo English Test, or IB English scores).
Two letters of recommendation.
A 300 to 350 word essay describing your career goals in the major you applied for and how attending New York Tech would further those goals.
SAT/ACT scores are not required for international students. Please review our test-optional policy. If you do want to submit scores, NYIT SAT Code: 2561, NYIT ACT Code 2832.
If you or your agent are submitting documents by email or fax, then they are not considered official. Your application for admission will be considered for admission when we receive copies of these documents but official documents must be received in order for you to register for classes.
The following minimum scores required for full admission to graduate programs are:
IELTS score: 6.0
TOEFL (iBT) score: 79
Pearson PTE score: 53
Upon completing a 2-year core curriculum and meeting specific requirements (see Admission Requirements: Bachelor of Architecture, B.Arch - OPTION TWO) you may still be able to progress into the 5-year B.Arch. degree or complete your B.S.A.T. degree, which is accredited by New York State and may lead to New York State licensure.
Copies of transcripts of all high school work, including college-level courses. Your mid-year and final grades should be summited when available. All final, official transcripts must be received prior to the start of your first semester.
Testing Preferences: First-time first-year applicants may choose to submit their application without standardized test scores to be considered for admission to New York Institute of Technology. This program does not require test scores, though some academic programs require test scores. Review our test-optional policy. If you are submitting official SAT (critical reading and math only) or ACT test scores, use these codes.
Two letters of recommendation.

Develop an understanding of all aspects of a building's design and architectural technology by exploring new materials and fabrication technologies on your journey toward a professional career in the industry. With the Architectural Technology, B.S., your curriculum will encompass architectural design, building technology, environmental systems, and project management using advanced software and tools. You can also opt to further tailor your degree by pursuing a concentration in Construction Management. During your first two years, you will study the foundations of architectural history and building construction while developing expertise in design analysis, drafting, and 3-D design skills. During your third and fourth years, you will work intensively toward the completion of a capstone project incorporating all aspects of a building's design and architectural technology. You'll gain the critical experience you'll need to stand out to employers through national and international design workshops, collaborative projects within the community, onsite construction observation, and summer study abroad in canonical cities around the world.
