A bachelor's or first-level professional degree from a regionally accredited institution. If the degree is from a non-U.S. college or university, the institution must be recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. The degree must at least be equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree or first-level professional degree. The Registrar will vet and make a recommendation to Dean of School of Graduate Studies for approval
A satisfactory academic record.
IELTS - 6.0 with 5.5 minimum in all bands
TOEFL iBT - 79
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the availability of online testing, we will accept the TOEFL at-home test as proof of English proficiency.

Our architectural studies program offers the option of completing the first two years of the architecture curriculum in Kansas City. Students pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture, Interior Architecture or Industrial Design will spend only the first year at UMKC.<br><br>The Architectural Studies program admits only 36 students each year. New students are accepted into the program only in the Fall semester. We encourage prospective students to apply as soon as possible. Students are accepted until all positions are filled.<br><br>For first-time college students, high school grade-point-average and ACT or SAT scores will be reviewed. For students transferring from another college or university, current grade-point-average will be reviewed. Once accepted, a deposit refundable up until May 1 reserves your place in the program and will be applied to your tuition in fall.<br>This certificate program was designed in accordance with the standards from the National Council for Preservation Education, the highest standard for historic preservation education.<br>Students graduating from this program will:<br>demonstrate the ability to identify, synthesize, and interpret historic resources.<br>demonstrate the ability to apply historic preservation methods and techniques.<br>demonstrate effective professional writing and communication skills.
