Applicants must have a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 grade scale equivalent to U.S. bachelor’s degree. If your GPA meets the minimum admission requirements, the department of major will determine if your overall academic record and test scores meet department requirements. Note: If you do not meet the minimum 3.00 GPA, your application can be considered for admission if you: earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for your last 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits OR worked in the program specific profession for 5 plus years, obtained a letter of support from a faculty member in the department, written a detailed statement/essay describing your professional experience and potential to succeed academically, The following are acceptable as proof of English Language Proficiency: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): minimum overall score of 79, IELTS (International English Language Testing System): minimum overall score of 6.5, College of Graduate Studies requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper based. Each application requires three (3) Letters of Recommendation (LOR). Gather the names and email addresses of your recommenders. All graduate school applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree. An official academic record from all post-secondary education institutions attended is required. This may take some time so start this early in your application process. Statement of Purpose, Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) Transcript Scans (if applicable) In the instance that official records cannot be obtained, unofficial records may be used to consider your application To be considered official, all academic records and test scores (ie. transcripts, degree certificates, GRE, TOEFL) must be sent directly from the institution and/or testing center to Graduate Admissions. Bachelor's coursework including: human anatomy, human physiology, professional first aid and CPR certification

As the importance of geographic information science and spatial analysis continues to grow, so does the need for professionals with advanced research skills and knowledge of the analytical techniques and technologies used in the field. As a graduate student in this program, you will learn how to use GIS and other geospatial information technologies and analytical tools to solve complex global problems. You will also study areas like remote sensing, statistical and mathematical modeling, geographic-computational models, network and spatial analysis, and quantifying and modeling. Students in this program work alongside faculty on leading research to explore geography as it relates to climate change and the global environmental system, social and political systems, physical and social changes in our planet, and much more.
