High School
Alberta English Language Arts 30-1, or equivalent, with a minimum final (blended) grade of 75 percent.
A grade of 5 or higher IB Higher or Standard Level English.
A grade of 4 or higher AP English.
A grade of B or higher in GCE A/S-level or A-level English.
Successful completion of a minimum of three consecutive years of full-time academic study in English at a secondary school in Canada or another country where English is recognized as the primary language (see Recognized Countries, below). English as a Second Language of study is not considered academic.
Post Secondary
Successful completion of a minimum two years of full-time academic study in English at a post-secondary institution in Canada or another country where English is recognized as the primary language (see Recognized Countries, below). English as a Second Language of study is not considered academic.
Successful completion of an academic diploma, applied degree, or baccalaureate degree, requiring at least two years of full-time study, at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada where the language of instruction is English.
TOEFL IBT - 80 (16 in each of Listening, Reading, and Speaking, and a minimum score of 18 in Writing.)
IELTS - 6.0 (6.0 in each band).

Agricultural biotechnology examines agriculture and the natural world, emphasizing the relationships between food production, the environment, science and society.<br>The program focuses on the life sciences, with prominence given to the application of biotechnology in agriculture. It also delves into agriculture's associated sectors including: government, policy development, farm production, environmental implications and agricultural sciences.<br><br>Studying agricultural biotechnology will give you a strong science and economics background rooted in both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and focusing on the issues, research and course materials relevant to agriculture. In this lab-extensive, hands-on learning environment, you will concentrate on the physiology of microbes, plants and animals, as well as the systems they thrive in - helping you build technical skills in areas such as biochemistry and molecular biology.<br><br>As a multidisciplinary major, agricultural biotechnology takes full advantage of resources and course offerings in the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry & Biochemistry and Economics. This multi-faceted approach allows you to explore new applications in science and develop fresh perspectives about how to address challenges in food production through changes in economics, production or diversification.
