Applicants for admission must have or anticipate receiving a bachelor's degree from an accredited school before the start of the semester for which they have applied to the Graduate School. Previous schools must be accredited by a recognized accreditation association. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point Avg of graded undergraduate coursework, or from graded graduate coursework where there are 12 or more graded semester hours of graduate coursework taken after the bachelor's degree.

The School of Biological Sciences graduate program offers outstanding training opportunities for students seeking M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in biology or plant biology. We also offer a non-thesis M.S. degree in biology. We currently have approximately 75 graduate students advised by faculty in the School. The training of graduate students is a major emphasis of faculty in the School of Biological Sciences. We welcome you to contact directly individual faculty members or direct your questions to the graduate coordinator within the School of Biological Sciences. Our plant biology students generally focus on research in the broad areas of plant physiology, ecology, evolution, systematics, and molecular biology.
