Academic records for grades 9-12 with official transcripts and certified English translations for each secondary institution attended. Two academic letters of recommendation. A grade point average of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) is required. Applicants whose native or first language is not English must demonstrate proof of language proficiency by submitting satisfactory results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The minimum TOEFL score for full admissions consideration is 100 on the internet-based test (iBT) or 600 on the paper-based test. IELTS - 6.5 (Sub-scores for each section of the IELTS should be 6.0 or higher.). SAT Critical Reading score of 530 or higher (taken before 3/1/2016), or SAT Reading Test sub-score of 29 or higher (taken after 3/1/2016). ACT English score of 23 or higher.

The department's undergraduate program focuses on government and public affairs as an aspect of a broad liberal arts education. It prepares the student for an enlightened role in national, community, and world affairs. This program can lead to a career in public affairs or any private or not-for-profit area that deals with the growing interrelationship between the public and private sectors. It also provides a solid and comprehensive foundation for the student who plans to pursue further education before entering a career in politics or public affairs, governmental administration, law, teaching, or research. 15 credit hours of approved coursework with at least 6 credit hours at or above 300-level with grades of C or better.
