The following information must be submitted via the online application for the Educational Psychology Program application.
Copies of transcripts/documents from all post-secondary institutions attended (and official English translation if the language of instruction is not English). (See additional detail in 'Message from the Graduate School' above.)
Official GRE testing scores are not required due to COVID-19 related difficulties in accessing testing sites.
Three letters of recommendation. Recommendations can be processed electronically through the Graduate School application portal.
Personal Statement (required of all applicants) as related to getting an advanced degree in Educational Psychology.
Career Goals Statement (required only for fellowship consideration). This concise statement (single space, 1-page maximum) should describe your research interests, how they align with those of your preferred advisor, and professional goals upon completion of the doctoral program.
Submitting a copy of your resume is also recommended. International applicants must take and submit scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), with the exceptions noted below. The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL is 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test, or a total score of 80 with a 19 on the speaking section for the Internet-based test (iBT). Applicants with iBT speaking scores between 15 and 18 may be considered for provisaaional admission, enrollment, and, if necessary, remedial course work. The M.S. program with thesis is primarily for students who will continue on through the doctoral program. The alternative without a thesis requirement is intended for students who plan to terminate their graduate study after obtaining an M.S. degree. explore how people learn across the lifespan and ways that learning and teaching interconnect and reciprocally influence each other in formal and informal educational settings. Given our focus on the science of learning, teaching, and assessment, students are exposed to a variety of approaches to the design of empirical research, the creation of measures for latent variables, and the use of advanced statistical techniques. Our goal is to provide students the theoretical and methodological tools needed to conduct research on the development and assessment of model learning communities.
