Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions. Even if you attended only one semester, a transcript is required.
Three letters of recommendation from former instructors or supervisors. The online system will send your recommenders an e-mail request so that they may submit their recommendations electronically.
Official test scores on the Graduate Record Examination. (The general test is required. The subject test is not required, but strongly recommended.) Be sure to take the exam early so that your scores arrive on time.
Official scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). This is required for international students whose native language is not English. A minimum score of 6.5 is required on the IELTS. If after application review you are considered for potential admission, international students will then also be required to complete the Test of English Proficiency for International Associate Instructor Candidates (TEPAIC), candidates will be contacted with instructions as appropriate.
Personal Statement. This should be approximately 500 words and should address your rationale for attempting advanced study.

This program is designed to help you develop a systematic understanding of cognitive processes. These include perception, human learning, attention, categorization, problem solving, decision–making, information processing and retrieval, short and long-term memory and forgetting, sensory encoding, motor control, psycholinguistics, and reading. We place major emphasis on the development and testing of theories in this area. As part of the training program, you are expected to participate in extensive research programs.<br><br>Cognitive Psychology overlaps with other areas of specialization both within and outside the department. Where it is appropriate to your individual program, coursework in other areas such as cognitive science, mathematical psychology, linguistics, computer science, and mathematics is encouraged.
