To be considered for admission to the program applicants must complete the Graduate School online application, and satisfy all UWM Graduate School admission requirements in addition to the following program requirements:
Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0.
A letter outlining the applicant's academic and professional background, declaration of School Psychology as the Area of Concentration, as well as specific research interests and goals for the PhD program.
Three letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant's intellectual achievement and potential.
Resume or curriculum vita.
You must have attended this institution for at least one year and the degree was earned at an institution in the United States, and you have lived and worked continuously in the U.S since earning the degree. Cambridge English: Advanced / Cambridge English Proficiency C1 level or higher. TOEFL IBT (not Home Edition) - 79 120, IELTS - 6.5 9.0.

This degree prepares students to work as school psychologists and leads to state certification. Based on a scientist-practitioner model and coursework in educational psychology and complementary disciplines, our program emphasizes the link between theory, research, and practice. Approved by the National Association of School Psychologists. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment of school psychologists will continue to grow because of an increased awareness of the connection between mental health and learning. These workers also will be needed to help students whose educational, behavioral or developmental issues affect their ability to learn. At UWM, youll develop the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in this growing field. The Department of Educational Psychology offers an EdS degree program with a concentration in School Psychology. Our students gain a broad theoretical background, as well as evidence-based clinical skills through didactic, field placement, practica and internship experiences.<br><br>This program will prepare you to work as a school psychologist and leads to certification from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. As part of the EdS degree requirements, students will complete 600 hours of practicum and 1,200 hours of internship. Based on a scientist-practitioner model and coursework in educational psychology and complementary disciplines, our program emphasizes a concrete link between theory, research and practice through core applied courses and supervised practical and internships. The EdS program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists.<br><br>Upon completion of the master's degree in Educational Psychology (School Psychology concentration), the student will be considered for the Education Specialist Degree program in School Psychology. The student must file an application for the EdS with the Graduate School. Admission to the EdS program is dependent upon successful completion of master's degree requirements. Students who are not admitted into the Education Specialist Degree program are not eligible for school psychology certification.
