Fulfillment of all general requirements for admission to the Graduate School
Completion of four (4) upper-division undergraduate survey courses in Spanish and Spanish American literature with a grade of B or better (SPAN 3301, SPAN 3302, SPAN 3303, SPAN 3304 at UTEP, or their equivalent at other institutions).
If you did not attend high school in the United States and your most recent institution of learning was not located in an English-speaking country, UTEP requires you to provide evidence of English-language proficiency. Minimum score 550 on the paper-based (pBT) TOEFL. Some programs require 600 or better. Minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test (iBT), and minimum of 6.5 on IELTS.

课程简介
The Spanish M.A. provides students with skills for the analysis of literary and cultural artifacts from Hispanic America, Spain, Brazil and the U.S.-Mexico border. The U.S.-Mexico border location makes this graduate program an ideal one for in-depth study and comparative study of Spanish-speaking and bilingual cultural production. Applicants who have not taken all such courses or who have not completed one or more of them with a grade of B or better can be granted conditional admission, and will be required to make up any deficiency by enrolling in the appropriate course(s) during their first semester. Such courses will not count toward the degree.
