课程简介
The USC Upstate Spanish program opens news worlds of opportunity. The Spanish program aims to teach communication in Spanish, to provide knowledge and understanding of Hispanic cultures, to build multilingual communities, to draw comparisons between various cultural and linguistic systems, and to expand our students' educational experience by connecting Spanish with other disciplines in the University and with people and careers at home and around the world. Students who complete the Spanish major gain cultural competence, leadership skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to communicate with speakers of Spanish in their own language. Spanish majors are prepared for a competitive global marketplace, particularly in view of the international nature of the Upstate community and the growing Hispanic population in the United States, home of the world's second largest Spanish-speaking population. Demand for translators and interpreters is expected to grow by 40 percent in the coming years, and our Spanish majors can be part of the bridge between businesses, health care providers, educators, non-profit services, and the multilingual communities they serve.
