Prospective first-year students must:
Have a 3.00 recalculated grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A= 4.00) from a secondary school.
Please note: GPA recalculation occurs during the admissions evaluation process.
Have three years of high school work.
Please note: If you are currently in high school, the University of Arizona needs to see 9–11 grade work. If you have completed high school then Arizona needs to see 10–12 grade work.
Have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
Official college/university transcripts from each international institution you have attended will be required at the time of enrollment.
If you have attended any college or university outside of the United States during or post-high school, unofficial transcripts from each institution you have attended are sufficient for initial evaluation.
Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for initial evaluation. At any time, you may be contacted to submit official/verified transcripts.
Official transcripts showing grades for all years of secondary/high school and official exam results or certificates from your country will be required before you enroll at the University of Arizona.

Students learn content similar to what they will encounter in their first year as undergraduate students and thereby improve their language abilities. They also enroll in a CESL-supported general education course for credit, this course will count toward any major at University of Arizona.
With CESL's English Language Endorsement, students in the U-Track Pathway can fulfill UA's minimum English language proficiency requirement without taking an additional TOEFL or IELTS exam.

The Bachelor of Arts in French offers two emphases. The French and Francophone focus suits students with wide-ranging interests in French and Francophone studies to complete a French major without taking all courses in French. After completing the core requirements in French language, students take courses in the major that are taught in English. Students benefit from a diverse program, with coursework in language, literature and culture. There are also opportunities to study abroad in Paris, which is one of the oldest and most established study abroad programs at the University of Arizona.<br><br><br>LEARNING OUTCOMES<br>Communication, Communicate in French, both orally and in writing, by engaging in interpersonal, interpretative, and presentational communication activities.<br>Culture, Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of other culture(s) in an essay on a cultural topic.<br>Comparisons, Develop insights into the nature of languages by analyzing and discussing the relationship between good writing and good thinking as well as showcasing these qualities in one¿s work.<br>Connections, Develop critical thinking by making connections and engaging creatively in problem ¿solving activities leading to the completion of a research project.<br>Communities, Engage in multilingual communities at home and around the world by applying classroom learning to real world situations
