国际学生入学条件

Most applicants who have completed a M.A. or are in the process of doing so generally are able to show some proficiency in research by means of an empirical M.A. thesis, although this is not necessary if applicants can demonstrate research experience and/or have outstanding potential for doctoral research.

TOEFL scores 550 Paper-Based Test (PBT), 80 Internet-Based Test (IBT) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall Band score of 7 or higher (if applicable).

To be fully considered for admission and support, applications and supporting application materials must be received by January 1st.

The UCSB Department of Communication is a world leader in the social scientific study of communication. We engage in communication science that is socially relevant, theoretically motivated, and methodologically rigorous. From close relationships to digital media to the workplace of the future, our research and teaching explore communication in the contexts that shape our world.
