The program includes both in-person, residential experiences at Syracuse University, and online coursework completed from anywhere during the school year. Students enter the program with vastly different backgrounds, perspectives, and talents but share a passion and exciting curiosity for the convergence of imaginative possibilities between the fields of media and education. Together, you will explore through extensive practical and intellectual exercises including research projects, hands-on multimedia creations, and interdisciplinary investigations and experiments. While this C.A.S. does not lead to New York State teacher certification, it can help current teachers develop deeper understandings of how to use media in the classroom, teach media literacy and media skills, and have students in their classrooms tell their own stories through media.
