Applicants must be completing or have completed the equivalent of 12 years of education (primary and secondary) or the program of study that leaves them eligible for admission to university-level study in the educational system in which they are enrolled. For example, students who are completing or who have only completed O level or GCSE/IGCSE study are not eligible to apply and should do so when they are completing the final year of A level study, or the equivalent.
Scores must be submitted directly from the testing/assessment agency and the most competitive candidates score above a 90 on the TOEFL, 7.0 on the IELTS or 110 on Duolingo. SAT, SAT Subject Test, and ACT results cannot be used to meet the English proficiency requirement.

The economics department offers three undergraduate degrees: a B.A. in economics and a B.S. in economics, offered in the College of Arts and Sciences, and a B.S. in business and economics with a major in economics, offered in the College of Business and Economics. Our graduate program has a M.S. degree in applied economics and a Ph.D. in business and economics. The economics faculty have published papers in journals including American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Economic Perspectives, RAND Journal of Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, International Economic Review, Economic Journal, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Economic History, Journal of International Money and Finance, Science, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Economics Letters, and Industrial and Labor Relations Review. The faculty also write textbooks and research books in their areas of expertise, and serve as editors of economics journals.<br>All College of Business and Economics students must complete the Core Curriculum, including ECO 1 (Principles of Economics), ECO 45 (Statistical Methods) and either ECO 119 (Intermediate Macroeconomic Analysis) or ECO 146 (Intermediate Microeconomic Analysis), as well as the requirements for their major area of study. Majors in economics must take both ECO119 and ECO146, as well as ECO157 and at least 12 credits of elective economics courses for a total of 18 credits beyond the core requirements. The Economics major provides students with a solid grounding in the basic tools and models used in economic analysis. Combined with the CBE core, it prepares students for careers in business, consulting, non-profit organizations, or government.<br><br>From: College of Arts and Sciences
