The doctoral program is for well-qualified students who are mature in scholarship and purpose. It offers a well-balanced mixture of theoretical studies and experimental research. A student must demonstrate creative thinking, self-motivation, and ability to do independent research. In their research, students are expected to deal with complex issues, effectively formulate difficult problems, devise new methodology, and achieve new and exceptional results.<br>Our program educational objectives are reflected in the achievements of our recent alumni. <br>Research and/or Practice: Alumni will successfully engage in the research and/or practice of transportation within academia, industry, government, and private practice, working toward sustainable solutions in a technical specialty area. Alumni will be able to synthesize technical knowledge of analysis, and design to identify, formulate and solve problems of professional interest and importance.<br>Professional Growth: Alumni will advance their skills through research, innovation, professional growth and development activities such as research. <br>Service: Alumni will perform service to society and the profession through membership and participation in professional societies, government, educational institutions, civic organization
