Learn to design and fully engage cities in our off-campus location embedded in downtown Indianapolis, the state's capital, and the nation's 15th largest city. Our Master of Urban Design (MUD) program will provide you with real-world experiences throughout Indianapolis, the state, and beyond. The program is located at CAP: INDY, 25 North Pine Street in Indianapolis, and is part of the R. Wayne Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning.The program is a 32-credit, one-year post-professional degree that requires a core understanding of environmental design, design thinking, and relationships between sites, people, and contexts. You'll participate in studio- and community-based courses taught by an interdisciplinary team of professors from Ball State's Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning. Students admitted to the MUD Program are eligible to apply for paid intern positions (up to 20 hours/week) working on a variety of neighborhood and city projects as well as public outreach and engagement initiatives through the Design Center.
