Political science majors study the various approaches to politics, delving beyond political science into economics and history. On the other hand, international relations majors experience a broad-based curriculum that includes politics, economics, history, anthropology, and foreign languages. At Widener, students have the opportunity to experience politics and government processes through political lobbying, international simulations, and campus political engagement. Internships further add to the experience by placing students in real-world positions that enhance their skills and build their personal networks. Undergraduates are also able to take graduate classes in the master's in public administration (MPA) program. Graduates from Widener are successful in a variety of careers including business, public outreach, management, human resources, law, and government, among others. The analytical and negotiating skills, communication abilities, and administrative competence gained in the political science and international relations programs are strong life skills that can be applied to any career.
