Transcripts. Don't submit your transcripts to UC at this point, but refer to them as you fill out the application to ensure the information you enter is accurate.
Test scores. UC will not consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships. If you choose to submit test scores as part of your application, they may be used as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Internet-based test (iBT) or iBT Home Edition: Minimum score of 80 or better. Paper-delivered test: Minimum score of 60 or better
IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Overall band score of 6.5 or higher, includes IELTS Indicator Exam
Duolingo English Test (DET): Minimum score of 115
SAT (March 2016 or later) Writing & Language Test: 31 or higher
SAT (prior to March 2016) Writing Exam: 560 or higher
ACT combined English-Writing or English Language Arts portion: 24 or higher
AP English Language and Composition, or English Literature and Composition: 3, 4, or 5
IB Standard Level examination in English: Literature, or Language and Literature: 6 or 7
IB Higher Level examination in English: Literature, or Language and Literature: 5, 6, or 7

Global economics is an interdisciplinary major designed to prepare students to participate in the global economy, the program aims to deepen students' knowledge of economics within a culturally and linguistically diverse world. The major is particularly useful to students contemplating careers at home or overseas in international relations, in international business, or with international organizations. Hence, the major requires overseas study, regional area study, and second-language proficiency in addition to the basic economics requirements.<br><br>Study and Research Opportunities<br><br>Opportunities for students to take some elective courses for the major at foreign universities through the UC Education Abroad Program (EAP), study abroad opportunities available in over 43 countries through this program.<br>The possibility of undertaking joint research with economics faculty (particularly in the area of experimental research)<br>The Economics Field-Study Program offers internships supervised by faculty sponsors and on-site mentors.
