Students admitted directly from a bachelor's degree must complete at least 50% of the course work units required for the relevant program's master's program if no course work is required as part of the doctoral degree,

IELTS - The University minimum requirements for English proficiency is an overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section.
TOEFL - The University minimum requirement for the internet-based exam is a total score of 93, with a minimum score of 20 in each category. For the paper-based TOEFL test, the University normally requires a score of 580, with TWE 5

The doctor of philosophy (PhD) in mathematics is a program intended for those who wish to develop advanced independent research skills and hone their ability to explore mathematical questions. Candidates pursue a research-intensive program supported by world-class research faculty leading to a substantial contribution to mathematical knowledge. Students are trained in scientific communication skills and are qualified to work in industry, academia and government.

关于西蒙菲莎大学
蒙弗雷泽大学（Simon Fraser University,简称SFU）是以十九世纪探索温哥华地区的探险家西蒙·弗雷泽命名，于1965年成立。是一所中等规模的文理科综合性大学，现有在校学生19000多人。 该校曾多次被加拿大的权威时事杂志Maclean评为加拿大最佳综合学府，一直在加拿大大学综合声誉排行榜上名例前十名，素有“加拿大最有价值的综合大学“的美誉。从建校开始，SFU就拥有激进的名声。在最初的几年内已就教授在校内讨论敏感话题与静坐造成了不稳定。虽然这股风气已经逐渐减退，但总括来说SFU依然被认为是强烈的左翼校园。1960年代的学生激进份子更掀起了一场“文化大革命”去提倡加拿大大学管治的民主。1967年5月，SFU成为了加拿大第一所让学生加入理事会的大学。SFU的激进思想使它创设了创新的与富弹性的课程。举例说，在1968年SFU成为全加拿大第一所为在职经理增设EMBA课程的学府；SFU在1991年也是加拿大学府中最先提供社会学硕士课程的。
