Applicants to the Public Accountancy program must submit:
One official copy of all undergraduate (four-year degree) and graduate coursework, including a baccalaureate degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
An undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (4.0 basis).
A satisfactory test score of 450 or better on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or of 300 or better on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

Statement of objectives
For international students, a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 80 on the internet-based exam or higher is required prior to admission. Candidates with less than an 80 TOEFL score will be admitted to the English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
Entering MBA students are expected to have competency in basic computer, quantitative, and oral and written communication skills. Students that need to acquire these skills will be advised to take additional credit or non-credit courses to obtain these skills. Any credits taken to obtain basic skills may not, however, be applied toward the MBA degree.
Entering MBA students who have earned a B or better in any of the foundation courses approved to be equivalent to the corresponding courses at New Paltz may have these courses waived. In addition, up to nine credits of graduate coursework approved to be equivalent to the corresponding courses at New Paltz may be transferred into the MBA program. IELTS - 6.5

The MBA in Public Accountancy program consists of 36 credits of graduate study beyond completion of the BS in Accounting at New Paltz or its equivalent. It is registered with the New York State Education Department as a 150-credit Licensure-Qualifying Program in Public Accountancy, which means that students earning this degree will have met the educational requirements needed to sit for the CPA examination in New York. The SUNY New Paltz School of Business welcomes you to our new and improved MBA degree program, providing students of all backgrounds with knowledge and skills they need to thrive as professionals and entrepreneurs in the 21st century. Our AACSB accreditation puts us in the top five percent of international business schools, and our updated curriculum (including the new part-time online option) ensures that students of all backgrounds and lifestyles can succeed with us.Our program has been updated to accommodate all schedules. Courses are available nights, weekends and online, so you can mix and match to fit your needs.Our MBA professors bring decades of industry experience to the classroom. They are dedicated mentors who provide individualized advising, in-person and via web conference, to meet each student's individual needs. The curriculum has been streamlined and modernized and can now be completed in 45 credits, allowing our students to earn their MBAs in as little as 15 months.
