The healthcare system is changing rapidly, and there is an urgent need for physicians with an advanced knowledge of business. To address this need, we have partnered with the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine to offer a Health Organization Management (HOM) dual degree program where you can earn an MD and MBA, providing you the tools to solve the most pressing issues facing healthcare today through acquired clinical experience and business know-how. Through this program you will earn both a MD and MBA degree within the four years of medical school. You will complete 42 credit hours of coursework at Rawls College within 18 months. To provide a broader knowledge of the organizational context in which health care is provided, you will complete a four-course concentration in Health Organization Management (HOM) as part of the program. You will attend classes in the HOM program during the summers before and after the first year of the medical curriculum, plus two online courses by December of the second year of medical school. You will work with advisors from both colleges to ensure all graduation requirements are met for each program.
