An applicant was awarded a Master's degree at an accredited college/university in the United States and has been in residence in the United States continuously prior to application to SIU (not out of the country for more than one calendar year).
You have a minimum of 60 graded (A, B, C) hours of recent coursework completed at an accredited college / university in the United States with continuous residence in the United States prior to application at SIU. Pass / Fail, Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory, or Proficiency credit is not acceptable.
550 on the paper-based TOEFL
80 on the internet-based TOEFL
6.5 on the IELTS
A grade-point average in all graduate-level work of 3.5 (A=4.0) is preferred, but no less than 3.0 is permitted for admission.

The objective of the doctoral program in marketing is to provide the student with a comprehensive, in-depth coverage of the field of marketing, leading to career options in teaching, research and service in academic, government and industry environments. It is also the goal of the program to recruit, admit, educate, graduate and place quality PhD's. Consistent with this goal and with the human and financial resources available, an ideal student-to-graduate faculty ratio should not exceed approximately 1 to 1.5 at any point in time. Admissions should be monitored so that a critical mass of 2-4 students is enrolled in the marketing doctoral seminars.
