The programme is designed to provide a career focused academic experience for students as well as a good understanding of the requirements of the practice based professional exams studied to obtain chartered status as an accountant. The programme will be both quantitative and qualitative and reflect the increasing internationalisation of business. There will be an emphasis on the application of accounting and finance techniques, underpinned by the relevant UK law and regulations and international standards. We aim to deliver courses that prepare students for today's competitive job market. Our range of real-world placements and strong links with employers has helped DMU enter the top 25 UK universities for graduate employment. In fact, according to the most recent Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey, 95.8 per cent of our most recent graduates were in employment or full-time education six months after graduating, well above the national average. Support also extends beyond the classroom and includes employment fairs, graduate internships, enterprise support and a whole range of careers advice.
