This two-year course with advanced practice develops broad business skills while also offering a specialist pathway in logistics and supply chain management (LSCM). This has been voted by the UK's top 10 food retailers as their most vital management area. Specialist modules cover strategic procurement and how to manage the sustainability, quality and risks of supply chains. During part of the second year you will have the chance to undertake an Advanced Practice group consultancy project which will be positioned in an area of relevance to the programme. This advanced practice will enhance your skills and employability. There is no requirement to have studied business or LCSM at undergraduate level and we welcome applications from graduates of any background. The course is covered by the prestigious AACSB accreditation for Newcastle Business School, which was ‘Business School of the Year' at The Times Higher Education Awards 2015 and is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).<br><br>The course includes two modules that are focused on developing global management competencies. Topics during these modules include emotional intelligence, cultural awareness and the ability to work in diverse groups and teams, as well as project management and decision making. A further module, ‘Academic and Professional Development', has a specific focus on self-development. It includes formal sessions with our Careers and Employment Service which offers a range of workshops, one-to-one advice, and networking opportunities. In the second year of the course you will have the chance to put your new learning into practice. You'll develop a track record of achievement that will help you stand out from other job applicants. We will help you find a project that matches your interests and career aspirations. A master's course that takes two years, instead of just one, will carry particular weight with employers. They'll understand that you'll have a deeper understanding of topics as well as more hands-on practical experience.
