Successful events breed brand loyalty, customer satisfaction, and repeat business, and this degree aims to help aspiring professionals understand the theory behind them. The Events Management programme at Lincoln takes a cross disciplinary approach that gives students the opportunity to gain an understanding of events in a physical, social, and cultural context. Students have the chance to participate in live projects and undertake work placements to gain practical hands-on event experience. Students explore the planning and management element of the events industry and the experience economy in more detail, with modules such as Event Management: Concepts and Practices, Project Management for Events, Live Events Management, Investigating the Experience Economy, and Understanding the Visitor Experience. The final year of the course gives students the opportunity to develop their knowledge further by examining events management in wider society, event strategy, consumer culture, and event sustainability. Students are also required to write a dissertation or take part in a live consultancy project. Throughout the course, students may be able to take part in optional study visits. There is also an opportunity to study abroad for a term or year at a partner university. Students are responsible for their accommodation, travel, and general living expenses. Students on this course have the option to develop language skills at no extra cost with opportunities to study French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Mandarin Chinese. Events Management at Lincoln aims to develop graduates with a strong portfolio and workplace experience. This can enable them to undertake a range of roles in the events industry and adapt to the changing needs of the sector. Lincoln graduates have gone on to work in roles in events management, wedding planning, marketing, public relations, and corporate hospitality.

Duration - 3 Year or 4 Year (with optional placement year)
