The International Business programme has a multi-disciplinary, internationalised approach to management which opens a gateway into the competitive world of global business. This course encourages you to bring a critical and globalised approach to management theory and practice. International Business and International Relations offers an interesting combination that introduces you to the symbiotic relationship between the two disciplines, allowing you to bring together business and politics to deepen your understanding of the world around you. International Business will explore organisational behaviour, managing international organisations and doing business in emerging markets. You will learn about the difficulties and benefits of managing across cultures and languages. International Relations will provide the key concepts and specialist topics that are necessary for understanding how politics and power operate in the international system. You will explore a range of approaches to the study of both international politics and business. You'll understand both the business driven and the politically centred structures and systems that shape our world. You'll also explore how those not only inform but also direct economic and political action by individuals, states, businesses and organisations. You'll consider the historical, socio-political, economic, gender and geographical structures and interactions in the international system, and you will consider how these impact upon the practice of business on different levels. You will become an analytical and critical thinker. You'll also gain academic as well as practical knowledge that will allow you to approach the world of business from an international, as well as a political perspective.
